Computer Guitar Tuner

A guitar tuner is one of the most essential pieces of equipment a beginning guitar player should own. No matter how good you actually are, if your guitar is out of tune it will not sound good. Precision is key because guitars that are almost in tune can sound just as bad as guitars that are way out of tune. Good tuning exists within a very narrow window.

Most music stores sell tuning equipment--from pitch pipes with a fixed number of pitches and tuning forks with one pitch each to electronic tuners that produce whole ranges of pitches but require batteries or AC adapters. Tuning by ear is a skill you will likely develop over time, but it is rarely an innate ability. At DPR Technology, we have developed a simple tuning solution called Guitar Tuner.

Our Guitar Tuner is a compact program that will run on most PCs and works with your system's sound card and speakers. It produces perfect pitches through your speakers for each string on your guitar in standard tuning (E-A-D-G-B-E). It also allows you to explore alternate tunings by raising or lowering pitches in half-step increments.

All of our products were developed with a knowledge of the guitar and a desire to help every guitarist learn more quickly so they will not get frustrated and give up. Our 5-in-1 Value Pak provides all of these learning tools and perfectly supplements private instruction. With a portable memory card or USB drive, your portable guitar school can be wherever you have access to a PC.
